The Cumberland Hotel, London

Our first trip to London was fantastic. The Cumberland Hotel offered premier location for tourism and easy access to the Underground subway transport. Check-in process was easy and they instructed us personally on how to use the elevator system. The added fee for breakfast is a must as there are multiple stations including omelettes to order, yogurts, breads, and plenty more to satisfy any appetite. The staff was super friendly and Julia made sure we weren’t without coffee while clearing our plates. Concierge service was outstanding giving us more water and extra towels when requested.

I had a wonderful stay at the The Cumberland Hotel, and I especially want to recognize “Saleh” (Saturday afternoon) for his outstanding service. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly professional, welcoming, and genuinely kind. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and went out of his way to help guests with anything they needed. What really stood out was how he elevated the entire atmosphere-his positive attitude and helpfulness truly made everyone's day. It's rare to see someone who consistently treats every guest with such care and enthusiasm. Because of people like Saleh, my experience at the hotel was even more enjoyable. Thank you for the excellent hospitality. I'll definitely remember the great service during my stay.

We stayed at the Cumberland as we wanted to do some shopping in Oxford street and we were off to see a show. The receptionist we saw when we arrived. was very friendly and showed us how to operate the lifts and get to our room. The rooms were clean and tidy and we had complimentary drinks in the rooms mini bar. The shower was nice and hot and had all the essentials like shampoo and conditioner. We had a lovely nights sleep. The bar downstairs in the lobby was ok, we ordered a bottle of wine and we had to open it ourselves and then a wine cooler arrived 5 mins later. We had to then go and wait for our bill, I think this could have been better staffed and managed. In the morning we had breakfast, it was a delight, be aware that it’s downstairs 1 level below ground and in the Green Room, lots of people were asking and looking lost so telling people where to go when they arrive would be helpful. They had an omelette station which was a lovely touch and the best omelette i have had in a long time. The food was hot and fresh and the only thing I didn’t overly like the taste of was the orange juice. So all in all I had a lovely stay and would come back again.

Our stay at The Cumberland was truly nice from start to finish. We had a wonderful experience and felt genuinely welcomed throughout our visit which lasted 5nights. The staff were incredibly kind, always smiling, and consistently willing to help with anything we needed. Our room was a bit small but spotless and very comfortable. It was perfectly clean and beautifully made, with a lovely wooden design. It made our stay even more comfortable and showed great attention to detail and care for families. The hotel’s location is extremely convenient, situated right on Oxford Street and next to all major transport links, making it easy to explore the city.

Hotel is nice. The room was clean. We did have some issues though. The shower drain was blocked. When I took my shower the bottom filled enough that it almost overflowed. The toilet was also blocked and did overflow. When maintenance came up, they un clogged the toilet but did not mop up and we had to use our towels to absorb the water. The breakfast buffet had many options and was of good quality. The staff interactions were always pleasant and polite. Our stay at the Cumberland Hotel was not by choice. We were supposed to stay at the Tower Hotel by Thistle but they were overbooked and found us a room here. It was a very good alternative.

Great location and very solid overall stay The location is excellent — just a few meters from the Marble Arch Tube station and directly across the street from Hyde Park. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants within a short walking distance, which made everything very convenient. Room: The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small, but it wasn’t an issue for us. The room was very clean, and service was fast and efficient. Complimentary water and coffee were a nice touch. Breakfast: Breakfast wasn’t included in our rate, but we prepaid and received a discount. It was very complete and tasty — definitely worth it. Hotel & Service: The hotel itself is large and well maintained, but what really stands out is the service. Everyone — from the bell staff to the front desk and housekeeping to the breakfast team — was consistently helpful and professional. Overall, a very good experience and a place I would consider staying at again

Despite the heavy workload and the large number of guests, they remained attentive, professional, and unfailingly polite. It was truly impressive and admirable to see such dedication and positive energy under pressure. Well done to all the employees – their efforts do not go unnoticed. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. We were also pleasantly surprised by the baby cot provided for us. It was perfectly clean and beautifully made, with a lovely wooden design. It made our stay even more comfortable and showed great attention to detail and care for families. The hotel’s location is extremely convenient, situated right on Oxford Street and next to all major transport links, making it easy to explore the city. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London. It is definitely worth a stay!

Overall wonderful stay. The room was comfortable. It is on the smaller side but that’s to be expected in London. However it was clean and modern. The service was wonderful. Everyone I ran into was very pleasant. Big shout out to Laila at the front desk who checked me in. The location is unbeatable as well. Plus there is a tube station half a block from the hotel entrance. There is great value for what you spend here. Looking forward to my next stay.
